Burning River Festival
Join more than 25 musicians and bands at Burning River Fest, one of the most popular eco-consciousness Cleveland festivals. Started in 2001, this annual event was started to recognize the renewed eco-consciousness that stemmed from the 1969 burning of the Cuyahoga River. Over time, it's grown into a festive celebration with fresh food, live music, artwork, educational exhibits and chef demos from local eateries and farms. Enjoy a wide array of live music, including rock, funk and blues, as several bands perform on three separate stages. The two-day festival will also include performance artists, a Corporate Boat Float with watercrafts made entirely from recycled materials, and a ceremonial lighting of floating pyres to observe community efforts to clean local waterways. One of the most important environmental festivals in Cleveland, Ohio, Burning River Fest will also include educational and interactive displays to raise awareness of environmental issues impacting the Cuyahoga River ecosystem and the Great Lakes region. Proceeds will go to the Burning River Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources to protect local waterways. Enjoy great food and music, while making a positive impact on the local environment. The event is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., July 25 & 26 at Coast Guard Station at Whiskey Island.
